The District 10 Accessibilities Committee helps carry the A.A. message to alcoholics for whom it is difficult to attend meetings regularly, such as those with chronic illness or with physical limitations in sight, hearing, or mobility, the home-bound, or persons with limited reading skills.

Bill W. thought it essential to maintain records of A.A. History so that there would be a way to conduct accurate research on the fellowship's past.

WHAT WE DO…
The Archives Committee collects and preserves records and historical material. The Archives Committee assists home groups with group history forms and maintains archives display to bring to the District and home group events. Archives hosts two events each year, an Old Timers and an Early Timers meeting.

Current Practices Committee

Our Current Practices Committee meets every third Saturday at 10:00 am on Zoom.

Our District Guidelines help guide us in the best possible direction when conducting our monthly business meetings. The result of these guidelines will keep both ourselves and the groups we represent well informed and ultimately help the still-suffering alcoholic who steps into our rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous.

WHAT WE DO …

Create a Book of Motions and District Guidelines (Book of Current Practices) from Archived minutes.

Present a report of Committee activities orally at the District meeting and in written form for inclusion in the District minutes.

Hold quarterly meetings to fulfill its responsibilities

Update the Book of Motions and the District Guidelines (Book of Current Practices) quarterly once original books are completed.

E-mail District Web Chair each quarter an updated copy of the Book of Motions and the District Guidelines (Book of Current Practices).

Provide the District Finance Committee with an annual request for funds at budget time.

Communications Committee

Our Communications Committee meets monthly on the third Sunday of the month at 7 pm on Zoom.

WHAT WE DO…

The Communications Committee aims to facilitate updates and improvements to our district website pages following the 12 Traditions, the 12 Concepts, District 9, and Area 15’s Current Practices. All content updates are reviewed for applicability and anonymity. Any significant change or addition to the website’s content must be approved by the District 9 body as directed by the District 9 Chairperson. The Committee updates all Event information and Event Flyers and maintains a website display at all District Events.

The Grapevine Committee informs the Fellowship of our “meeting in print” with information about literature and resources available through aagrapevine.org. The Committee also maintains a Grapevine display for District and home group events. All are invited to join.

The Literature Committee informs members and groups of A.A. Conference-approved literature, audiovisual materials, and other materials. Provides information on G.S.O.’s A.A. website, www.aa.org; maintains a literature display for group and district functions. Considers proposed additions and changes to conference-approved materials and encourages A.A. members to read and purchase A.A. literature. Public Information and Cooperation with the Professional Community

WHAT WE DO…

The Information/Cooperation with the Professional Community (PI/CPC) Committee communicates with professionals in health care, law enforcement, treatment, corrections, human resources, counseling, sociology, ministry, education, communications, and judicial systems. The committee cooperates, without affiliation, with those seeking to help those who may have a problem with alcohol.

The Committee provides support and resources to A.A. members seeking to educate professionals with whom they come in contact and provides speakers at schools and civic groups. The committee also maintains a PI/CPC display for group, district, and community functions. If you would like us to bring our display to your group anniversary or would like more information, please feel free to contact us.
